Affordable Wedding Venues

There are so many different ways in which a good ceremony can be done, especially here in New York where there are so many different options available for event planning. And, yes, it is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but that doesn’t mean that having a wedding here has to be out of a person’s price range. How then, you might be thinking, could I possibly have an inexpensive wedding here in New York City? And, what venues near me might even be affordable?

At Perfect Wedding NYC we pride ourselves on offering budget friendly services and, as part of that, we are happy to make suggestions for wedding venues near you that could be affordable options. We refer to these choices here as inexpensive wedding venues near me options.

Making your day special is our biggest priority as experienced wedding industry specialists and one of the things our customers value us most for are our abilities to create meaningful events at reasonable prices. That said, below we have our list of options for favorite affordable wedding venue places:

PARKS AND SQUARES

Most of the parks in the city do not have strict booking rules and restrictions. Even Central Park doesn't require couples who want to do ceremonies or receptions there to procure permits for most spots in advance. Now, we are not going to lie: Central Park is a very popular destination for local people and tourists and is also one of the most popular places in this city for hosting outdoor weddings and events at. But, we can guarantee from our experiences that you can always find an available spot in the park for your ceremony to take place there if you are just looking to do a small elopement event.

Even if your desired spot is occupied at the time you get there, there might be other desirable places available around. While it is good to have a permit if you want to use certain special spots, you can only obtain those permits a minimum of thirty days in advance, which is something you might want to consider ahead of time of making your booking with us. This might also be an important factor to consider if you have people on your guest list who may be coming in from far away who might need to make travel arrangements months in advance.

But if you just made the decision to get married and want to make it happen FAST, then don’t worry! You have lots of choices for cool outdoor places to choose from that don’t require any advanced planning. Beyond Central Park, other outdoor places we love include: Brooklyn Bridge Park, Washington Square Park, Battery Park, and Fort Tryon Park - and, none of these places require permits.

However, even if you do decide to stick with Central Park, we are sure it won’t be a problem to find a special secluded spot for your wedding. Cop Cot and the Conservatory Garden are the only places in Central Park we are aware of that require you to obtain permits for private events; but, believe us, they are not the only great spots in the park where we can make beautiful events happen for you.

TIMES SQUARE

Can you imagine having a wedding venue right in the heart of the city? Times Square is a very popular tourist spot - but also, surprisingly, a great spot for wedding ceremonies and photo shoots, too. But, if we’re discussing the topic of inexpensive wedding venues near me, then this place is a must to consider - as it’s free! No permits are required and you can have a wedding wherever and whenever you want in this location. And, what’s also important is that this place makes a great one for your special love story photoshoot after. Commuting to Times Square is also a breeze, given that so many train and bus lines run to this location. Of course, if you want to secure the spot, different rules might come up depending on what you have planned, but usually for a small outdoor elopement ceremony, you should be fine without making any kind of advanced arrangements with the city.

OTHER STREETS AND SQUARES

Basically, you can have a wedding pretty much anywhere you like in Manhattan if it’s a small one. Yes, it could be at almost any public street or park but there are still a couple things that you should take into consideration for such a plan. The first thing is how busy a place might be - as you don’t want tons of people who might be walking to their offices to be a part of your ceremony, as this could turn your ceremony into some kind of uncomfortable public spectacle. The other thing is the background for your photoshoot - and, this is something that you should certainly discuss with your photographer in advance.

See, the place you choose could be very nice but may in fact not be an ideal one for photos if the light in your chosen location is not right or too many distracting things might be going on in the background. In such cases, your photos could come out in monochromes or have elements in them that distract from showcasing what is most important: YOU! Thus, from experience, we know that backdrops should be chosen in consultation with a professional photographer; and, we further know that the same spot that might make an image look good from one side won’t make it look good from another.

ROOFTOPS

So, here is the low-down on rooftops: basically, most of them are pricey but there are a few that can be obtained for reasonable prices, especially when it comes to elopement events. This is simply because some rooftop locations in Manhattan offer flexible hourly pricing so you only pay for the time you need.

Now, let’s consider the most popular inexpensive wedding venues near me we know of:

3 WEST CLUB

We highly recommended this midtown Manhattan venue as it offers a bright minimalistic interior space, awesome cocktail service, and an amazing terrace with great views. In regards to the topic of affordable wedding venues, this is one of our favorites given that they offer very budget-friendly rates for renting out club space.

TOP OF THE ROCK

At Top of the Rock, located in Rockefeller Center, you can experience one of the most majestic views our city has to offer. Top of the Rock is also a popular tourist destination and all you need to access the observation levels are tickets that you can pick up at the plaza below. While the price is different at sunset time then in the morning, it’s still an affordable place to visit at any time. The capacity here is also fairly open so that it allows a person to bring about twenty guests with him or her for an event but no more—an amount perfect for a small event.

Top Of The Rock is the best affordable rooftop for an elopement wedding ceremony that Manhattan or even New York City can provide. It is not private, but has the breathtaking view and atmosphere.

BROADWAY LOUNGE TERRACE AT THE MARRIOTT MARQUIS

Another location we love in Midtown Manhattan is the Broadway Lounge Terrace at The Marriott Marquis, located right in the heart of Times Square. Here you will be literally surrounded by skyscrapers, far above the bustle of the city. But, even though the location here is a central one, the rooftop is a calm place that should offer enough privacy to enjoy an intimate event in. What is more, this location offers amazing views that will be sure to inspire you for your perfect love story photoshoot after.

THE INTERCONTINENTAL NEW YORK AT BARCLAY HOTEL

This hotel is an amazing place that sits right in a great part of Midtown East. The bar here offers panoramic skyline views and can be an ideal place to host weddings of any size at. The prices here are also affordable and flexible, especially if you’re just planning for an intimate affair, and a photoshoot in central Manhattan locations could easily be arranged for after any ceremony you plan here. We, honestly, love the décor here and encourage you to check out this spot!

632 ON HUDSON

This place is pricey compared to other location ideas we suggest but it’s well worth it as it offers fantastic views and a very unique indoor area for mixing. This place can easily fit more than thirty people and though it was designed more for formal wedding and reception events than small affairs, it’s still possible to have just an elopement service here. The terrace, especially, offers a great space for such an intimate ceremony and that’s why we think this place makes a great affordable wedding venue space to consider.

PENTHOUSE ON FIFTH AVENUE

Here is the one affordable penthouse option we know of that people always love. This rooftop is located in the heart of the Flatiron District in Manhattan on the Seventeenth floor of an old Art Deco building. The atmosphere inside is modern and chic, and includes both indoor and outdoor spaces for mixing. They also have an elegant and simple ballroom that you could use for dancing!

This list comprises many of the affordable rooftops we are most familiar with but by no means includes all possible places we use. If you would like to find out more about other affordable wedding venue options and rooftops we have access to, then please contact us for more information.

We have an extensive list of places so we have no doubt that we can find one that will meet all your special needs. Remember, too, that we aren’t limited to using just the city’s more well-known rooftop spaces, we can always find other less known options as well—such as spaces in private residences that you, family members, friends, or even co-workers might have access to.

THE MOST AFFORDABLE PLACE WE KNOW: YOUR OWN HOME

Now who said that your private home or New York City apartment couldn’t be turned into a beautiful event venue? Just decorate your home in a way that meets your vision and have your elopement ceremony there! But what if you feel your place might be too small? Can you have some of your guests just attend online or even host the entire event that way? To do this, we can simply create a Zoom meeting for you and then all your friends and family members that you invite can join in online.

Besides, what could be a better inexpensive wedding venue near me option than your own home?

By doing an event at home, you can also save money that you might have otherwise spent for a venue rental and then you can invest that same amount into something else: like a good catering service or on photography or video services. The possibilities are endless—as you might then still have extra funds leftover for such things as purchasing festive decorations for your place or for hiring musicians who could come to your home. Just remember: the best weddings don’t need to be the most expensive ones and at Perfect Wedding NYC, we’re always happy to help you find the most affordable options that can best work for you.
